Along with being a 4th grade teacher, Alexander is a PhD Candidate in Educational Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University with a focus on teacher burnout and the diverse ways in which intersectional identities impact educators’ experience with teaching. These experiences combined with his passion for improving education systems are highlighted in his role as Teacher Engagement Advisor, where he helps TEAL support teachers dealing with burnout and makes sure TEAL collaborates with teachers in a balanced, non-extractive, and fair way.
